Rules of the Game

Soccer Basics

Throw-ins, corner kicks and goal kicks apply. No off-sides or slide tackling. A goal kick or throw-in must touch another player before the person playing the ball into bounds can touch the ball again. Kick-offs are taken as a goal kick.

Dimensions

Field Dimensions are 60 feet long by 48 feet wide. Goal dimensions are 32 inches high by 47 inches wide.

Timed Play

Games last 28 minutes with a 5 minute half-time after minute 14. Players are responsible for keeping time during their game. Pause for “stoppage” time when any player requests it. Each team can take up to two short time-outs per half.

Adult Touch

Adults can only score with 2 touches or less.

No Goalies

No goalies are allowed, and a player cannot stay back and tend the goal.

Standard Fouls

At the location where the foul or hand-ball occurs, an indirect free kick is awarded.

Foul: Scoring Opportunity

If a foul or hand-ball denies a likely scoring opportunity, a penalty kick is awarded.

Child Injury Avoidance

(1) Adults can only steal a ball from a child with a light touch on the child's foot or no contact at all. Anything more is a foul;

(2) If an adult knocks a child down who is on the opposing team, a penalty kick is awarded;

(3) If an adult causes a child any accidental pain, for any reason, a penalty kick is awarded.

Penalty Kicks

Penalty kicks are taken as an open shot 8 paces from the goal. The child on the team takes the kick.

Close Matches

If a team is winning by 4 goals, both adults must conspire to enable the child on the opposing team to score the next goal.

Mission

Our collective mission is to foster fun for the kids while further developing their game. Nothing should get in the way of the mission.
